022/1/15 Lesson: Photography

Today in our lesson, we had the privilege of looking at all aspects of photography which consisted of things such as the camera, the backdrop and lighting.

The backdrop can be colours such as black or white. Ideally, for my magazine, I will use a white backdrop which would make my cover star stand out. When using the backdrop, the person has to roughly 5 feet from the backdrop in order to create a 3D effect rather than blending in with the backdrop and looking 2D.

The camera we will be using will be a DSLR camera. 4 settings you have to control when using the camera is, the shutter speed, white balance (which should be set to the flash), ISO (should be roughly 100/200) and aperture.

We will be using Bowens flash kit. There will be 3 lights in the room - soft boxes (which diffuses the light make makes it more natural) and a snoot (which creates a 3D effect on the individual as the light bounces off the hairline).
